Hey, I'm Klara and I'm a university student in Montreal studying English Lit
One of my main (and basically only) interests is music, I love music. Listening to music, live music, playing music and singing. Nowadays, if someone asks what kind of music I listen to I go with the classic "Everything but country music" which is mostly true... there are some exceptions (this MAY be discussed later). And so, many genres will be analyzed and talked about throughout my blog!
You're probably wondering why I'm starting this blog (you're probably not). Mostly, it's so my mom can stop saying me laying in bed listening to music is getting me nowhere. Also, I do nothing but listen to music, the only thing I truly like and feel passionate about is music and a good playlist. And though you may not be able to tell by my writing skills, I am an English major and I need to use my thousands of dollars worth of schooling to write something.
My parents moved to Canada in the late 90s and are my main musical role models. I come from a very musical family, my grandparents were musicians, and my parents were dancers and are huge music lovers. My mom is a big hard rock fan and loves music from the '70s-'80s, my dad is a big new wave fan and loves movie soundtracks. Growing up I heard so much music and was regularly influenced at home by my parents and at school. My mom would always tell me stories of all the biggest rockstars she saw in concert as a teenager ranging from Micheal Jackson to the Rolling Stones. By the time I was around 13 years old, I had my very own Apple Music account. There I could buy any song I wanted for $1.29, I had developed a personal taste in music with a vast blend of genres. I had some embarrassing musical phases, duh, a big 80s re-awakening phase in 2018 when Stranger Things dropped and a pretty big-boy band phase (this, I will never speak of...).
I was always a big music listener, I had a radio in my bedroom that would run 24/7 as a kid, but with the peak of my boredom and slight loss of sanity during Covid came a LOT of music exploration.
So, after the messy introduction of who I am, you could be thinking "Why would you listen to me?" Why would you care about my reviews, ratings or opinions? I have no technical musical knowledge, I studied piano for 7 years and guitar for 1, but I can't play a simple melody on either very well...so. Seriously, why does my opinion matter? Honestly, It doesn't. I care a lot about music, it's saved my life. I listen to a lot of music and put a lot of time into getting to know music history and fun facts that I want to share. Also, I'm bored, and you're probably bored too if you are reading this... but if you've made it this far you should stay. Read some more of Kay's Corner, give me your feedback, share your music and I will do the same!
